👨‍👩‍👧 Talk About the Capstone Demo Day Case Study With Your Family

This Capstone is about the Gupta family, but many of the questions in this case may also apply to your own family.

Before your team completes the project, have a short conversation with a parent, guardian, grandparent, or trusted adult.

You do not need to discuss private financial details.

Ask one or two of these questions:

• What financial lesson do you wish you had learned earlier?
• What does financial freedom mean to you?
• What is the difference between earning money and building wealth?
• Why is it risky for a family to depend only on paychecks?
• What is one good financial decision you hope I make in the future?

Bring one interesting idea from the conversation back to your team.

You may share the idea anonymously.

🎥 Create a Clear and Engaging Team Video

Your team will create one video of no more than five minutes.

The video does not need professional equipment, advanced editing, or complicated graphics.

A clear explanation is more important than a perfect production.

We will play your video on Demo Day and then ask your team questions.

Your Video Should Answer the Specific Case Study Assigned to Your Team

Focus on the question and situation assigned to your team. You do not need to answer every possible financial question about the Gupta family.

A Simple Video Structure

Part 1 . Introduce the problem

Briefly explain who the Guptas are, what they want, and why their current financial situation may be risky.

Part 2 . Explain the property or strategy

Show the property or strategy assigned to your team. Explain the important numbers, assumptions, benefits, and risks.

Part 3 . Use the IDEAL framework when it applies

Part 4 . Make your recommendation

Tell the Guptas what you believe they should do next.

Explain your top two or three reasons in language that a family can easily understand.

You do not need to act like professional filmmakers. Extra props if you do. 🙂

Focus on helping the audience understand your thinking.

You could begin with a question such as:

“What happens when a family’s jobs and investments depend on the same industry?”

“Can one investment help a family become more financially secure?”

After your team completes the project, each intern should share one short reflection video on LinkedIn and other appropriate social media platforms by Saturday, July 25 at 12:00 PM PT.

Your video does not need to summarize the entire project.

Share one idea, lesson, or conversation that changed your thinking.
