There comes a moment in almost every adult’s life when a simple question changes everything.

“Why didn’t anyone teach me this sooner?”

For some, it happens while paying off student loans.

For others, it’s after landing a six-figure job and realizing that a bigger paycheck didn’t automatically create wealth.

Sometimes it’s when they become parents and begin thinking about the future they want for their own children.

The realization is often the same.

School taught how to earn a living.

Life had to teach how to build one.

Students spend thousands of hours learning mathematics, science, history, and literature.

Yet very few graduate understanding how wealth is built, why assets matter, how businesses grow, or how financial decisions made at 16 can shape opportunities at 26 and freedom at 46.

Financial literacy isn’t just about money.

It’s about understanding choices.

Choosing to think long term instead of chasing short-term rewards.

Choosing ownership over dependency.

Choosing to recognize opportunities instead of waiting for them.

These are habits that influence far more than a bank account.

They shape confidence.

Leadership.

Decision-making.

Resilience.

And the ability to create value in whatever career students choose.

That belief inspired the BricksFolios Summer Business Internship Program 2026.

Rather than teaching students what to memorize, the program challenges them to think.

Over six live virtual sessions, participants work through real business scenarios, explore how investments are evaluated, understand the principles behind wealth creation, collaborate with ambitious peers, and present solutions on Demo Day.

Along the way, they develop skills that will continue to matter long after technology changes, industries evolve, or careers take unexpected turns:

• Financial literacy and wealth-building fundamentals

• Business and entrepreneurial thinking

• Critical thinking and problem solving

• Leadership and communication

• Collaboration and presentation skills

• Real-world decision-making

The goal isn’t to create young investors.

It’s to help students develop the mindset to make smarter decisions throughout their lives.

Because the greatest financial advantage isn’t starting with more money.

It’s starting with better understanding.

Understanding how the financial advantage is getting more knowledge is important because even if you start off with more money, if you don’t take care of that money with knowledge, then you’re definitely at a disadvantage.

I like where you’re going with this. Knowledge doesn’t replace money, but it helps you make better decisions with whatever resources you have. Keep asking how understanding a concept changes the choices you make—that’s where financial literacy becomes real.
